As with all of us, Steve was more than just this website. He grew up in North Texas and was most of the way through a bachelor’s degree in Physics when he walked out of class to go apply as a police officer. He worked the the Denton TX Police Department from 1973 until 1998, retiring as a Sergeant. He was a firearms instructor and founding member of the SWAT team. He wrote the patrol rifle policy, easily recognized for years afterward because of the italics, and mentored a couple of generations of young officers.
Steve was a shooter, a sometimes hunter, and a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment. He was well know on many of the discussion boards and formed this website to help answer some of the questions he saw repeated on the boards.
Steve was married to Sandra. They were friends, both working at the PD for years, before he finally came to his senses.
Steve left us too soon but many remember his polite conduct on the internet, his great fount of information, and his willingness to share. He was a role model for many and will not be soon forgotten.
